A Day Full of Celebration

“Remember, Remember the 5th of November.”  Today was a big celebration throughout Great Britain.  November 5th marks the anniversary of the discovery of a plot organized by Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London in 1605.  So today many people light bonfires and set off fireworks to commemorate the arrest and execution of Guy Fawkes.

Unfortunately I did not make it to the big fireworks show tonight.  Instead I went to the big celebration going on downtown Oxford Street.  I would say it was similar to what we see on TV in Rockefeller Center, NYC.  But we got to see Baby Spice, Lawless, Leona Lewis, and Robbie Williams perform and partake in the countdown to turning on the Christmas Lights of London with about a bazillion other people.  Needless to say it was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget!!!

Now that I am all in the Christmas spirit finally--- it is time to pull out the hot cocoa and listen to some Christmas tunes :)
